Meet Mary Katrantzou event: backstage fever and a great show

Finally, the post that everybody waits the past two days. Sorry for the delay but  i had shot so many and so nice photos that was difficult to choose and then edit!!!

Last Wednesday I attended Meet Mary Katrantzou event. There was a fashion show with Mary Katrantzou's a/w 2011-2012 collection, but I was really lucky to have the chance not only to be backstage and shot wonderful photos, but also to meet Mary Katrantzou in person. She is such a cute, friendly and down to earth person! Who is Mary Katrantzou check here!

The clothes were full of colours and prints that make up your mood! Also so luxurious with swarovsky gems and silk and nice lines and lot of details! You can stare at them for hours, gazing the prints and never get bored! If you want a dress that would make an impression ....then Mary Katrantzou is for sure your designer!

Also, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the people from  L'oreal and Lancome that gave us the chance to attend this event and embraced us so warm from the very first minute that we were feeling completely relaxed and this was the secret of having a good time! Thank you for everything guys!:)

This was one of the best experiences in my blogging life so far! I am sure I am gonna to remember for a long time and I hope that I will be lucky to attend another show soon!

Meet Mary Katrantzou

The internationally famous Greek designer Mary Katrantzou, for the first time in Thessaloniki for an exclusive presentation!

In an original event, Mary Katrantzou exhibits her unique creations and she presents her Autumn - Winter 2011 collection.

Mary Katrantzou promises to travel us in the world of fashion, as she reflects in her collections.

The young designer that lives and designs in London, comes for the first time in Thessaloniki in order to initiates her fans into her secrets.

In a live interview, you will have the chance to know the designer that impresses with her creations.

There will be an exhibition with her previous collections and you will have the chance to admire the prints and the graphics that made her famous. Also, you will be lucky to taste gourmet flavors with the signature of Christoforos Peskias.

The experienced makeup artists of Lancôme will take care the makeup, while talented Dimitris Giannetos, Hair Stylist of L'Oreal Paris, will make the hairstyling, with Elnett hairspray. Mary Katrantzou’s collection is sold exclusively in Anna Kapsali’s shop STYLE FAX.

Designers:"maryholic handmade bags" by Mary Sofikitu

You know how much I love young designers! They have a fresh approach on fashion and they are full of new ideas and energy to create!

Today, I would like to talk to you about Mary Sofikitu, a young bag designer from Greece. Her brand is called “Maryholic handmade bags”. No, it’s not another bag designer…..but she helps you to be a designer! How? Mary just makes some sample bags. Then you choose the design, the material and the colour you want! Awesome? That means you can design the bag of your dreams!!!

Who is Mary Sofikitu? I can reassure you that she is a girl who loves really what she does!! Everything started since her cousin was a model. Mary met a photographer through her and then she started to make the styling for photo shootings. She may have study library science in Thessaloniki (GR) and worked at her father’s factory but these didn’t stop her from following her dream. She has also studied fashion design, costume design and styling at Veludakis school in Athens (GR) (other graduates are Sofia Kokosalaki, Miro, Vasilis Zoulias, Aslanis, Deux Hommes etc.) and worked as a stylist assistant at Lipstick Magazine, as a window stylist at Glou, as a costume designer at the theatre etc.

Her decision to start her collection grew up inside her for 3.5 years and only last summer she designed her first collection. This means that everything came after a good thought and this is noticeable at her designs. They are completely practical and easy to wear without being boring or indifferent.

Mary loves what she does, but she doesn’t consider it as a job but mostly as a hobby and a nice way to pass her time. This is the right way to feel if you love your job. You are always in the mood to work, because it completes you and makes you feel nice and relaxed.

Her inspiration is everything around her. Even the most common item may be a great idea for a bag design. This is why her bags are always so different and unique. She believes that bags are just like us…everyone has a unique personality!

Mary prefers leather and other fine materials, as she believes that every woman should be able to have a quality bag, without spending lot of money (the clutches cost 80-90E).
